Boat of Garten is easily accessible from the main A9 road which links the south of Scotland with the north, is six miles from the busy town of Aviemore and is centrally located in the Highlands of Scotland. Most of the Highlands are easily accessible from the area, including the west coast, the Moray Firth, and the north east and Aberdeenshire. By car: drive north on the A9 to the junction just north of Aviemore, signposted Grantown on Spey and Boat of Garten. Continue north for about 4 miles, where a right-hand slip road is signposted to Boat of Garten. You will drive straight onto the main road of the village, Deshar Road. Almost at the bottom of the hill, just before the Boat Hotel and directly opposite the Post Office, you will see the right turning into Kinchurdy Road. After a row of cottages, Keppoch is the third large house on the right. By train: mainline services stop in Aviemore. See the Scotrail website for details. By air: national and budget airlines run regular services to Inverness. See websites for British Airways, FlyBe and EasyJet. |
